Label Me Pretty Bundle, Stamp Together

Label Me Pretty Bundle

With the new catalog going live June 1st our local demonstrator group, lead by our fearless leader (Barb Brimhall – BZB Stampers) organized a “Stamp Together”.  This gave us the chance to play with and test out loads of new items before purchasing them.  Woohoo!  Today’s designs from the Stamp Together feature the Label Me Pretty Bundle.

This Label Me Pretty Bundle set of cards were designed by yours truly……that’d be me.  [smile]  The stamp set and coordinating punch open up possibilities for a variety of designs by using just the stamp set, the punch or both together.  My “clean & simple” design esthetic is front and center with these fun and bright designs.  I must confess I didn’t think I was going to be a fan of the new In Color Lemon Lime Twist.  OMGosh!!!  I so take it back.  As you can see I have fallen IN LOVE with this new In Color.

A few of the new items I chose to use in my designs where of course the Label Me Pretty Stamp Set, the Pretty Label Punch, the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack and the yummy Powder Pink 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon.

UPPER LEFT CARD:  I went outside my usual card design box and created a rather fun “slide-out” card.  It has a pocket that you slide the message into and includes a cute pull using the Pretty Label Punch and Powder Pink Ribbon.  AND I added a layer to the pocket from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack in the new In Color, Lemon Lime Twist.

UPPER RIGHT CARD:  This was my first design so of course it doesn’t include Flirty Flamingo in its color palette.  Lol!  I did incorporate a band of Silver Foil to add shine.  [grin]  In this design I added subtle texture by tearing the edges of the Lemon Lime Band.  Next I used an oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits and topped it with the Pretty Label Punch shape stamped with an image from the Label Me Pretty Stamp Set.  I was feeling ornery and had them fussy cut the banner.  [cheeky grin]

CENTER BOTTOM:  I must say this is my favorite of the bunch.  I LOVE the bright and cheery feeling I get when I look at it.  It features the Pretty Label Punch and fabulous new In Colors Lemon Lime Twist and Powder Pink. [TIP:  Rather then using a dark narrow layer to frame the bright colors I used white.  It gives a totally different look and lighter feel.  LOVE IT!]  I also used the cool Stitched Shapes Framelits squares.  These guys add a subtle faux stitched effect on the edges giving a nice finished look.  Sweet!

[I was having a “woe is me” moment while designing these guys.  I have something that I truly miss and want to share with you.  There are times when I would LOVE to add a layer or two of textured cardstock.  It adds just the perfect amount of subtle texture and takes a design to the next level.  I so miss our coordinating textured cardstock……I’m just sayin’.]  Okay, I’m done now and feel much better for having shared that with you.  [smile]

I hope you have enjoyed this group of fun and bright designs featuring the Label Me Pretty Bundle.  I also hope you enjoyed the variety of designs featuring loads of new items from the now live 2017-18 Annual Catalog.  AND that you are inspired to get stamping and let your creativity flow.

Thank you for stopping by and have a stampingly wonderful Friday and weekend!

Fun Hedgehog Using Thoughtful Branches Bundle

thoughtful-branches-hedgehog

My share to today is the second of four cards from my August Pinkstampagne monthly card class.  This cute hedgehog features the Limited Time Thoughtful Branches Bundle and Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack.

Here is my take on Judy Stickling’s inspiration I found on Pinterest.  I changed it up a bit by rotating the orientation and changed the sentiment.  Also, after looking at real life hedgehog pics I added the second larger Very Vanilla heart and used the Bow Builder Punch for his ears.  Thank you Judy for such a fun and cute idea.  Great “outside the box” thinking.  He is just too stinkin’ cute and is front and center with this clean and simple design.

CARD BASE:  The card base is Soft Sky layered with Sahara Sand and the mini dots design from the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack.

The oval his is mounted on is the largest from the Layering Ovals Framelits in Soft Sky.  To add some (all important) shimmer I spritzed it with a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Frost White Shimmer Paint (vintage). [TIP:  My mixture is 4 oz rubbing alcohol to 24 “drops” of the Shimmer Paint.  This was popped with Dimensionals to add my first layer of  dimension.  Lol!

HEDGEHOG:  His main body is one of the smaller ovals in Crumb Cake.  This is topped with the Tree Trunk with Branches Die in Early Espresso from the Thoughtful Branches Bundle.  The trunk was cut away then glued to the main body.  The ears are the tail piece from the Bow Builder punch in Crumb Cake cut in half.  The face is two smaller hearts from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits in Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.  The feet are a 1/2″ Circle cut in half. All the Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla pieces were sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  His body, small heart face and feet were popped with Dimensionals to add another layer of dimension.  Sweet!  His eyes and nose are clear embossed Basic Black 1/4″ Circles attached with small glue dots.

SENTIMENT:  The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  It is also stamped in Crumb Cake ink.  Then punched with Classic Label punch to size.  This is layered onto Soft Sky and Sahara Sand pieces punched from the same Classic Label punch.  AND guess what???  This is popped with Dimensionals as well.  [grin]

Hey, thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great Monday!  Until next time……Happy Stamping!

Bloomin’ Heart Happy Birthday

Sometimes you just need an update.  We’ve been in our home for 15 years and I love what we’ve done.  But, eventually you need to update here and there.  We’ve been on an updating kick the past couple of months, starting with our roof.  Earlier this week Derek started work on replacing our kitchen sink and faucet.  Don’t get me wrong, I did love my white sink but it was starting to show some wear and tear.  Here’s Derek working on the sink.  Eek!  Lol!

Sink Demo

At a recent Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog unveiling event we got made several “embellishments” with fun new items.  Woohoo!  Here is one that features the Heart from the  Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Dies and Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack.  I’m so happy I finally made it into a sparkly Happy Birthday card.

09 450pxl Bloomin Love - Happy Birthday'

CARD BASE:  I was super excited to play with the new Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.  I went with a Blushing Bride tone-on-tone and I love how the Blushing Bride still pops.  The base is Blushing Bride layered with Blushing Bride Glimmer and Shimmery White.  Hello……the subtle sparkle just makes it.  Lol!

FOCAL POINT:  The heart was cut from the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack using the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Die.  I challenged myself to “make it work”.  [grin – YES, I am a Project Runway watcher.  Lol!]  I topped the heart with several large and small Glimmer flowers that are also included in the Bloomin’ Heart die set.  Very cool.  Well….it felt like it still needed something, so into my embellishment drawer I went and came up with the new Metal Rimmed Pearls.  Perfect!!!  The pearl pair beautifully with the Shimmery White cardstock.

OMGosh!  I almost forgot, the coolest fun tool unveiled in the Occasions Catalog is……the Big Shot die brush and foam pad.  If you haven’t already seen it in action you are going to LOVE it!  It makes removing your cardstock from intriciate die shapes super fast and easy!  I will try and get a video showing this amazing new tool soon.

SENTIMENT:  There are loads of sparkle with the glimmer paper and shimmery white cardstock so I wanted to switch it up with subtle texture.  I took took a Blushing Bride strip and gave it the “Faux Suede” technique.  [TIP:  One of my “go to” techniques.]  Then I stamped Happy Birthday from the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set in Smoky Slate ink.

Hip Hip Hooray, It’s Your Day

08 500pxl 2016 OC Party Pop-Up 1

What an amazing football weekend.  Saturday’s morning game was a blow out (bummer), the afternoon game was a nail biter and kept me watching.  Sunday’s morning game (Seattle vs Vikings) what an AMAZING game.  We were on the edge of our seats the second half and did a lot of yelling and cheering until the very end.  Go Hawks!!!

I had a chance to play with my new Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies and here is my first design.  The pink, black and white color combo is secretly my favorite!  Lol!  So, I decided to use some of my Black Glimmer to give a boat load of sparkle.  [I had a hard time getting it to “shine”.]

CARD BASE:  As I said earlier, I just love the pink, black and white color combo.  So, the card base starts with Pink Pirouette layered with Basic Black and then the Black & White stripe from the  Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack.  I was on a “more height” day and popped this layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Lol!

FOCAL POINT:  Woohoo!  I was excited to play with the new Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies in the Occasions Catalog.  I ran the “hip hip hooray” die through my Big Shot with Pink Pirouette and then decided to finish cutting out the rectangle shape.  [TIP:  This die leaves the sides attached so it can be placed into the interior of your card to create a pop-up.  Sweet!]  Then I ran the die thru again with my Black Glimmer.  Next I popped out the Black Glimmer letters and shapes then glued them into the open Pink Pirouette spaces.  [TIP:  I adhered the Pink Pirouette die cut layer to a slightly smaller piece of whisper white cardstock.]  Again, I was on a “more height” kick and popped this layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well.  Lol!

SENTIMENT:  I felt it needed just a little something to finish up the “Hip Hip Hooray” and decided on “It’s Your Day” from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set, also in the new Occasions Catalog.  I stamped the words onto a narrow strip of Melon Mambo and nipped the endd to look even more banner-esk.  AND guest what……I popped this with a couple Stampin’ Dimensional halves as well.  I told you I was on a “more height” day.  Lol!

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and have a sparkly Monday!  Thanks for stopping by today.
