Floral Well Said Happy Birthday

Floral Well Said Happy Birthday

This Floral Well Said Happy Birthday card is one of the fun cards we made in one of my recent classes. The Well Said Stamp Set and Well Written Die Set includes 51 stamps 24 dies to choose from. That’s enough to cover most any occasion.

I was happy to make use of the Large Letters Dies and Petal Promenade Designer Paper. By trimming the serifs from the letters it gave a new more modern look to them. This lovely floral paper design is my favorite……lots of pink!

Then to add just a bit of texture, which I felt it needed, I embossed the Whisper White band with the Subtle embossing folder. Sweet!

I am sad the Large Letters Die Set along with the Petal Promenade Designer Paper are retiring the end of May. These are popular and will go fast so don’t wait.

Vertical Greetings Happy Birthday

Vertical Greeting Happy Birthday

Hooray for scraps! I always seems to have scraps laying around on my table. This design was inspired by Gingham Gala strips from a previous project. I was playing with the colorful Organdy Sale-a-bration Ribbon Pack and coordinating Gingham Gala Designer Paper strips (scraps) and created this bright and springy Vertical Greetings Happy Birthday design.

I had just gotten the Rectangle Stitched dies and thought they would be a perfect fit with the ribbon. After playing with a strip of ribbon in each of the five colors I thought wouldn’t it be cool to have them floating in a cut out. Then I pondered how I could make the ribbon float without showing on the inside. Haha!!! Add a front layer and cut through both layers. That was the ticket!!! [TIP: It really needed something so I embossed the front with the Subtle Embossing Folder……oh yeah!]

Next the Gingham Gala strips came into play. I was trying different stamps for the cut out and had my second “ha-ha” moment. The rectangle cutout with the strips adhered to match the ribbon on the card front. Then adhere the rectangle to fit within the cut-out on the card back. I did my super happy chair dance. Woohoo!

Finally I contemplated what sentiment I wanted. I couldn’t find anything that made me happy. No pun intended……Lol! After going through all my stamp sets I came across the Vertical Greetings set and new it would be perfect. I went a step further and made the sentiment float within the cutout. There was a narrow strip of window sheet on my desk and I placed it between the layers like the ribbon strips. Then I adhered the sentiment with glue dots to the window strip. Voila’!!!

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed today’s bright and springy design and are inspired to get your stamping mojo on! Have a great day!

Well Said Love You Valentine

Well Said, Love You Valentine

Today’s share one of the designs made in my January stamp class. It is an adorable Well Said Love You Valentine card. I challenged myself to use the Well Said Bundle AS WELL AS the Brusho Crystal Colour. The Brusho Crystal Colour giveS the cool watercolor look effect.

I wanted to create a clean & simple Valentine’s Day card for class AS WELL AS play with Brusho Crystal Colour. I love the versatility of this design. It would be great for a Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, or just as an I “love you” card.

The “love you” is from the Well Said Bundle in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. After I perused the new 2019 Occasions Catalog it was one of my “must have” items I had to get. This bundle includes word images along with lovely script word dies to combine together. Finally, to add additional texture, I used the White Washed design from the Wood Textures Design Series Paper.

GREAT TIP: I cut the “heart” from the center of the watercolor paper before adhering to the base. Also, I cut the “love” from the Copper Foil layer before layering with the White Wash design.

I hope you enjoy today’s clean & simple Valentine’s Day card as much as enjoyed sharing it. Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a great day and get your fingers inky!

Piece of Cake 3 Tier Happy Birthday

Piece of Cake 3 Tier Happy Birthday

They are here!!! What’s here??? The 2019 SU Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration Catalog! Sweet! When I received my first order I couldn’t wait to start designing. I started with the Piece of Cake stamp set and pretty Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper. I’m call this my Piece of Cake 3 Tier Happy Birthday card.

BASE: The base is Thick Whisper White layered with five 7/8″ x 4″ strips from the Gingham Gala DSP pack (Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather). This 1/4″ gingham is beautiful AND the opposite side design……is 1/8″ gingham. Either size I use will add a fun, springy whimsy.

OVAL: The gingham designer paper pairs perfectly with the Stitched Shape Framelits. I selected the Stitched Oval. The stitching adds to the cute feel of the gingham print.

CAKE: With the five colors in the Gingham Gala designer paper I had to put my thinking cap on and decide how to use all the colors in the cake and stand. A-HA!!! I used Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist, then Balmy Blue and Highland Heather on the stand. I’m not much into coloring these images allowed me to color minimally OR I could color everything.

I added an additional top tier to the cake image, this gave me the five layers to color that I needed. Woohoo! The Piece of Cake stamp set comes with a coordinating punch for the 2 Tier cake and stand. Double Woohoo, no fussy cutting required!

Love You To Pieces Thanks Heart

Love You To Pieces Thanks Heart

What do you do when you get something new???  OR several new things.  [giggle]  Today’s share is just that with my Love You To Pieces Thanks Heart.

For me, I can’t wait to open my box and play.  Woohoo!  That’s exactly what I did after I received my Love You To Pieces bundle.  AND I was excited to play with the new embossing mats as well.  Amazing!

I was designing for one of my July classes and wanted something simple and fast……Love You To Pieces Thanks Heart.  I think I hit the nail of the head.  The embossed puzzle pieces and the adorable heart cut from the Petal Promenade Designer Paper are a perfect match.  It seemed like everyone enjoyed the card. (at least I think so.  Lol!)

The new embossing pads make it super easy and WAY COOL to emboss the dies without actually cutting them.  You can do one or the other OR both–cutting then embossing.  Sweet!  You really need to give them a try.  They are a must have for me!

The “thanks” is part of a sentiment from the Love You To Pieces stamp set.  OMGosh there are so many images and sentiments.  This stamp set is surprisingly versatile.

Then to include the all important bit of sparkle I added just a hint of the (also new) Glimmer Sparkle paper on a couple corners.  Perfect!

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed today’s share and are inspired to try something new AND get your hands inky.  Have a great day!
