Punch Art Holiday Reindeer

3 500pxl Reindeer Punch Art - Dena Rekow

I hope you had a great weekend.  I was able to get five days off over the Thanksgiving Day weekend.  Woohoo!  It was low key for us and I got to “play” in my studio A-LOT!  We also got caught up on all our DVR’d shows.  Yay!

Today I have for you the third design we created in my November Card Class.  I CASE’d this fun reindeer from Dena Rekow.  Thank you Dena!  She had it on a gift bag.  I thought it was too cute so I incorporated it into a card.  I had the red pompom trim and thought it would be just perfect for the nose.  What do you think?

CARD BASE:  The card base is Crumb Cake sponged with Craft Whisper White using the Dots Mask from the Decorative Masks–Dots & Stripes.  [TIP:  You’ll want to let this dry a bit before putting the cards pieces together.  When it’s dry wrap and adhere the 1-1/4″ Cherry Cobbler Striped Grosgrain Ribbon around to front of card.  The reindeer will cover where ribbon meets.

FOCAL POINT:  Body – Extra-Large Oval punch, 5/8″ is cut from bottom.  Hooves–1/2″ Early Espresso Circles glued and then trimmed.  Chest–one Whisper White petal from Fancy Flower punch.  Tail–is ear portion from Owl Builder Punch.  Head:  Owl body is Crumb Cake from Owl Builder Punch.  Ears–candle flame shape from Cupcake Builder Punch.  Nose–5/8″ Whisper White Circle with a Real Red Pom-pom attached with a glue dot.  Antlers–are Early Espresso from Tree Builder Punch.  The head is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I know, isn’t he just too cute!

SENTIMENT:  Whisper White strip stamped with sentiment from Oh, What Fun stamp set in Momento – Tuxedo Black ink.  Right end is punched with 1″ Circle and popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I thought is was appropriate for the cuteness of the card.

Silver & Sparkly Cupcake – Sprinkles of Life

Sprinkles of Life - Silver Cupcake

Good Wednesday morning (hump day!) stampin’ peeps!

Here is the second make-n-take I designed for last month’s retreat featuring the Sprinkles of Life stamp set from the new Annual Catalog.  I like the clean and simple feel of this card.  I, of course, sparkled it up by embossing the cupcake holder with silver embossing powder onto Silver Foil paper.

CARD BASE:  This is a long & narrow card using Pink Pirouette with varying widths of the banners in Watermelon Wonder (a new In Color), Whisper White and Smoky Slate.  The end where all punched with the new Triple Banner punch…YES!… all these sizes will fit into the punch  (1″, 1-1/2″ and 2″).  I just love this punch.  I’m excited to see what else I can come with using this punch.

CUPCAKE:  The cupcake base is Silver Foil embossed with silver embossing powder.  I did have them fussy cut it out.  It really is only three straight lines and a slight curve at the top.  The cupcake topping is the Leaves bunch from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.  It was stamped in Smoky Slate ink onto Pink Pirouette and punched out with the Tree Builder punch.  OMGosh I REALLY love this punch (even more then the Triple Banner)!  This shape is great for the cupcake top, a tree or even as a mask for clouds (hint, hint, on Friday’s post).  It was topped with several rhinestones to give that over-the-top sparkle.  Lol!

SENTIMENT:  This sentiment is one of many included in the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.  It was stamped in Smoky Slate onto a Smoky Slate strip.  TIP:  Make sure to punch the end first so you don’t stamp too close to the right side.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great Wednesday!

Sea Street Nautical Party Ensemble

Zsm Ensemble Shot 400dpi

Happy Monday Everyone!!!  This is a very exciting day for me.  I was asked to be a guest designer for Craft Project Central and of course I said yes.  Eek!!!  I was very nervous because designing for yourself is A LOT different then designing for someone else, they have different requirements and needs.  But I felt up to the challenge and I hunkered down and used the “you’re invited” design from our BZB New Catalog Stamp Together as my inspiration.  I stepped up the invitation, thank you and triple easel birthday card with embossing and was inspired to create the super cute garland and cupcake topper!!!  I knew I wanted a party favor and you will just have to subscribe to July’s to see what I use to make this ADORABLE favor.  [wink, wink]

This Nautical Party Ensemble is perfect for a Boy’s Birthday, 4th of July party or Summer BBQ party. It starts with an invitation to the party, next is an adorable Sail Boat favor, cupcake topper and garland to add extra sparkle, then a Thank You card to tell everyone you enjoyed their company and cannot wait to see them again soon. Finally, for that special Birthday someone there is a Triple Easel Birthday Card.

To get the instructions for my (Carol’s) project, just subscribe to July!  And if you have a minute, please leave me a comment on my project at Craft Project Central (and here too)!

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful crafting week!

Paper Craft Crew 88

PCC-088 400p

I was up for a challenge today and decided to give the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 88 a go.  These sketch challenges are a great to way to get your mojo flowing or take you outside your comfort zone which can be a really good thing!

I was looking forward to stamping with the Remember Your Birthday Stamp Set because I LOVE the “Today calls for something pink with sprinkles on top”.  So I’ll say this was my inspiration.  😎

I did stray slightly with the sentiment and rotated it 90 degrees.  The card base is Pink Pirouette embossed with Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  The two strips I scored with the Simply Score Scoring Board to give a bit of subtle texture.  For the tag I used Core’dinations Whisper White punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and I added Whisper White 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.  The sentiment is from Remembering Your Birthday, which I heat embossed with silver on Pink Pirouette.  I rounded both the tag and sentiment corners with the 3/16″ corner punch.  For the cupcake bases I heat embossed with silver embossing powder as well on Whisper White and cut them out by hand (I didn’t want any white to show around the edges.  I also heat embossed a Pink Pirouette strip with with clear embossing powder then punched the top with the Cupcake Builder Punch.  I adhered these to the cupcake base with a dimensional cut in half and overlapping the cupcake top slightly.  The final touch (of course) I added rhinestones, they are the “sprinkles on top”.
