Last Minute Christmas Gift Card Holders

Cookie Cutter Christmas ~ Gift Card Holders

If you need ideas for quick and easy gift card holders, I have three for you.  I had a variety of items left over from previous projects and couldn’t let them go to waste.  The envelopes are easy to make with the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Die Set.  I used the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper color palette to guide my choices for the envelopes as well as the bands and toppers.  Gingerbread House, Gingerbread Girl and Candies make for cute and easy toppers.  Now I just have to get our there and purchase gift cards.  [smile]

ENVELOPE BASES:  I used the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Die Set in Crumb Cake, Real Red and Whisper White.  This die is the perfect size to hold gift cards.  The variety of bands help to hold the envelopes closed as well as accentuate the toppers.

BAND TOPPERS:  The Gingerbread Girl and Merry Christmas Candy toppers were left on my table from previous projects.

  • Gingerbread House ~ I fussy cut the Gingerbread House from the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.  Next I layered it onto Real Red (2-1/4″) and Whisper White (2″) circles.  Then I topped the roof with White Mica Flakes to add a bit of sparkle.
  • Gingerbread Girl ~ I stamped her onto Soft Suede with VersaMark Ink, next I clear embossed then punched with the Cookie Cutter punch.  The buttons were clear embossed and punched with a 1/4″ Circle Punch.  I love the shine heat embossing adds.  Woohoo!  The Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper bow was also punched from the Cookie Cutter Punch.
  • Merry Christmas Candies ~ The Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper design candies were punched with a 5/8″ Circle Punch.  Next I layered them with Real Red (1-3/8″ and Whisper White (1-1/4″) circles.  Finally, “Merry Christmas” was stamped in Soft Suede ink.

I hope you are inspired to give these fun gift card holders a try OR create your own with what you have in your “stash”.  Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great Friday!

Jolly Friends Bundle ~ Santa Hats

Jolly Friends Bundle ~ Santa Hats

Woohoo it’s Friday!  I have for you today the final design from my November Christmas Card Class a couple weeks ago. This adorable design features the fun Jolly Friends stamp set as well as the fun Designer Series Paper designs are from Candy Cane Lane and This Christmas.  I have to tell you……this was a “make it work” design.  Lol!  What I mean by that is I found this design on Pinterest by Susan Powell (Yup!) and fell in love with it.  BUT……I had to make do with what I had in my “stash”.  I went with the Crumb Cake Dots from the Candy Candy Lane DSP and a different sentiment.  “Special Delivery” is from the Tin of Tags stamp set.  I also stamped “Making Spirits Bright” on the inside from the same stamp set.

I love being able to get creative and use what I have in “my stash” to “make it work”.  [smile]  Thank you Susan Powell for the fun inspiration!

BASE:  The card base is Crumb Cake layered with Crumb Cake Dots Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.  Next offset a Cherry Cobbler Striped rectangle from the This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Finally, this top with a Whisper White rectangle embossed with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder popped with Dimensionals.  [Hey, it needed height.  Lol!]

SANTA HATS:  Stamp three different Santa hats from the Jolly Friends stamp set onto Whisper White in Real Red Ink.  There are three images you build to create Santa’s hats……the hat, band and puff.  The band and puff are also stamped onto Whisper White with Sahara Sand ink.  These are then popped with Dimensionals as well as 1/8″ circles of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer to top the puffs (the first bit of sparkle).

SENTIMENT:  “Special Delivery” from the Tin of Tags stamp set is stamped onto a narrow Whisper White strip in Memento Black Ink.  Trim the ends into V’s for a banner look.  Then layer onto a slightly smaller strip of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer and trim the ends to match (second bit of sparkle).  [TIP:  You need to use glue dots, double stick tape or Dimensionals to permanently adhere anything to glimmer cardstock.]

Gift Card Holder, Tin of Tags ~ Candy Cane Lane DSP

Gift Card Holder ~ Tin of Tags Stamp Set & Candy Cane Lane DSP

Happy cyber Monday.  Lol!  Today’s share is the third design from my November Christmas card class.  It features the Tin of Tags stamp set and Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.  I came across this fun fold gift card holder online and modified the size to fit the sentiment as well as the sentiment itself and the designer series paper.  I thought I had saved the inspiration but I spent 30 minutes trying to find it and could not.  Thank you for the inspiration!

BASE:  The base starts with the In Color Cucumber Crush, which adds a fun pop of color.  The interior is layered with Real Red and the Gumdrop design from the Designer Series Paper Candy Cane Lane.

The right fold is layered with Real Red and Crumb Cake.  Then to add the first bit of shine clear emboss the Starlight Candy Design also from the Designer Series Paper Candy Cane Lane and then punch them out.  [TIP:  Yes……you can clear emboss your printed paper to add an unexpected bit of shine.  Sweet!)  The interior right fold is where the gift card sleeve is attached, it is also in Cucumber Crush.

SENTIMENT:  The left fold, which is also in Real Red, reveals the interior where you write your note and the top flap folds partially over the right fold covering just a bit of the candies.  It is layered with Cucumber Crush and Whisper White. The sentiment is from the Tin of Tags stamp set which is stamped onto the Whisper White with Memento Black ink.  The sentiment is stamped again onto Cucumber Crush and fussy cut for the banner that is popped with Dimensionals.

Finally….to add the last bit of sparkle the dots are topped with 1/8″ circles of Real Red Glimmer cardstock.  The shine from the embossed “candies” and Red Glimmer dots give this the perfect amount of bling.  [grin]

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  Thank you for stopping by today and have a great Monday!

Cookie Cutter Christmas ~ Gingerbread Friend

cookie-cutter-christmas-gingerbread-friend

Good Friday morning!  Say hello to my little Cookie Cutter Christmas gingerbread friend.  Lol!  This is my second “make it work” design using items laying on my work table.  The base and band didn’t make the cut on another project but I really liked the bold color combination so I set it aside AND the adorable gingerbread friend was too cute to recycle so she needed a home as well.

The clean simplicity of this design allows the gingerbread friend and sentiment to pop while having a bit of texture from the Cable Knit embossing.  I was wrestling with what to use for the vertical strip.  I had my a-ha moment and tried a window sheet strip.  LOVE IT!  She looks like she’s floating OR dancing, yeah that’s it, she’s dancing with her cute shiny candy bow.  [grin]

BASE:  Early Espresso is a great dramatic color to play against the Real Red and Whisper White bands.  The base and top fold is 4-1/4″ x 7″ scored at 1-1/2″.  To add a bit of subtle texture I used the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder on the red bands.  The bottom band is 4-1/4″ x 1-1/2″ leaving an opening that uses a Window Sheet band to “clearly” tie them together.  Lol!

GINGERBREAD FRIEND:  She is from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set was hanging out on my work table from another design project.  I was excited that she fit perfectly between the bands and looks like she’s dancing about.  I had leftover clear embossed candies from Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper, so I punched the bow using the coordinating Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. Woohoo!  My first shiny element.  Adorbs!

SENTIMENT:  The Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set is fun and offers a variety of sentiments. I couldn’t help but go with the “friendship” to keep it fun and playful.  I punched two more clear embossed “candies”, placing them with the sentiment so they tie together with her adorable bow.  Sweet!  My second shiny element.  Well….the window sheet strip adds shine too, so that’s my third shiny element.  Lol!

STAMPIN’ SUPPIES

Candy Cane Lane ~ You Are Sweet

candy-cane-lane-you-are-sweet

Good Monday morning!  I hope you had a great weekend.  I was cleaning up after having finished designing for my classes later this month [you can check them out here] I had leftover pieces that didn’t make the cut. OMGosh!  I made a pun….Lol!  I have seen this (what I call a) double fold online and decided to gave it a whirl.  The Gumdrop design is from Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.  It is on the base as well as the right front flap.  The Candies are also from the same Designer Series Paper pack.  What I love the most about this design (well two things)…first, is that I used leftover pieces sitting on the table AND second, that the design can be given any time of the year.  Yes!  “You are sweet” is a play on the candy designs.  Love it!

BASE:  I’ll admit I’m not much of a fan of Cucumber Crush but the Crumb Cake and Real Red called for a bright vibrant green.  The Cucumber Crush base is 4-1/4″ x 8-1/4″ scored at 5-1/2″.  The inside base and right flap are layered with Real Red and Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper Gumdrops design.

INTERIOR FOLD:  Real Red (3″ x 8-1/2″) folded in half.  Layered with Cucumber Crush and Whisper White.  The interior is layered with Whisper White.  Adhere centered on base with the fold on the left.

SENTIMENT:  The candies are from the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.  They are clear embossed and then punched out.  Yup….that’s my first bit of shine.  (smile)  Then clear emboss Real Red cardstock and die cut “sweet” from Cupcake Cutouts Framelits.  Adhere “sweet” with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  [TIP:  Reheat slightly to smooth the edges.]  Woohoo……that was the second bit of shine.  Lol!  Finally top “sweet” with “you are” from Sunshine Sayings stamp set in Early Espresso on Whisper White.

Thank you for popping by today.  I hope you enjoyed today’s design featuring leftovers and not a “Christmas” card.  Have a great Monday!
