Well Said Love You Valentine

Well Said, Love You Valentine

Today’s share one of the designs made in my January stamp class. It is an adorable Well Said Love You Valentine card. I challenged myself to use the Well Said Bundle AS WELL AS the Brusho Crystal Colour. The Brusho Crystal Colour giveS the cool watercolor look effect.

I wanted to create a clean & simple Valentine’s Day card for class AS WELL AS play with Brusho Crystal Colour. I love the versatility of this design. It would be great for a Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, or just as an I “love you” card.

The “love you” is from the Well Said Bundle in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. After I perused the new 2019 Occasions Catalog it was one of my “must have” items I had to get. This bundle includes word images along with lovely script word dies to combine together. Finally, to add additional texture, I used the White Washed design from the Wood Textures Design Series Paper.

GREAT TIP: I cut the “heart” from the center of the watercolor paper before adhering to the base. Also, I cut the “love” from the Copper Foil layer before layering with the White Wash design.

I hope you enjoy today’s clean & simple Valentine’s Day card as much as enjoyed sharing it. Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a great day and get your fingers inky!

Happy Birthday Butterflies Card in a Box

Happy Birthday Butterflies Card in a Box

I had fun creating this Happy Birthday Butterflies Card in a Box for my mom’s birthday in December. When I saw the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits in the new 2019 Occasions Catalog I instantly knew I wanted to cut them apart and play with them.

For my mom’s birthday I went over the top designing……Hello! it was for my mom’s birthday and she likes over the top. I hadn’t done a “card in a box” design for a while and thought it would be cute to have to butterflies “flying” out of the box. The bright Melon Mambo and Old Olive for the card in a box base went perfectly with the Sale-a-Bration Lovely Lipstick Foil, Brusho Crystal Colour powders and Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies.

Card in a Box: After building the box I felt it needed texture so I went through my Designer Series Paper stash (Lol!) and background stamps. The Burlap Background stamp jumped out at me. After cutting panels to fit the flaps and sides, then stamping with Melon Mambo. I had people asking if it was designer series paper. Cool!!!

Butterflies: The butterfly base started with Watercolor cardstock spritzed with water, then I sprinkled it with Brusho Crystals–Brilliant Red, Gamboge and Yellow. I made sure to not tilt the paper so it wouldn’t mix together, it would stay spotted. After I layered the Lovely Lipstick butterflies onto to the Brusho Crystal base I cut them apart and placed them with narrow strips of Window Sheet.

Sentiment: Sometimes you need to try several different sentiments and what it is stamped on before you find the right look. This was the case for me. There was a small strip of the watercolor piece so I tried that with Mossy Meadow ink. Sweet! Then I layered the “Happy Birthday” onto Mossy Meadow and Old Olive. I Love it!

Brusho Crystal Colour Memorial Day Flag

Brusho Crystal Colour Memorial Day Flag

Today is all about remembering, honoring and giving gratitude to those that have served in our Armed Forces.  This Brusho Crystal Colour Memorial Day Flag design is about showing gratitude.  Thank you!

This share was inspired by Memorial Day and the American Flag.  The red and blue Brusho Crystal Colours are so bright and bold along with the Gold Glimmer stars.  I felt these bold and bright colors would make for a nice Brusho Crystal Colour Flag.

After several attempts I ended up applying Brilliant Red strips onto watercolor paper and then a Prussian Blue rectangle with mini Gold Glimmer stars.  All I can say spritzing creates A LOT of over spray.  [Yikes!]

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have had a wonderful Memorial Day and have enjoyed today’s Brusho Crystal Colour Memorial Day Flag design.

Brusho Happy Easter Basket

Brusho Happy Easter Basket

Today’s post is my Brusho Happy Easter Basket card.  This fun and whimsical card was intended for my March class.  I was excited when I got my Brusho Crystal Colour powders and wanted to try them out.  They intimidated me at first.  After I jumped in and broke out my watercolor paper and spritzer, and went to town, it was freeing.

No two pieces will be the same and that was hard for me being a Type-A, but it made me relax and “go with the flow”.  (no pun intended)  [giggle]  The colors might not be traditional Easter colors but I think they are cute and kind of pastel-y, and look like colors eggs.  I used the Yellow, Orange and Red, and different amounts of spritzed water.

A couple of the eggs where embossed with White using balloon shapes from the Balloon Adventures stamp set.  Yes!  I that was my “make it work” moment.  [smile]  All I did was trim away the bottom tie from the balloon.

You know how much I really like the Long and Narrow card shape.  The three eggs stacked set in the little basket look too cute.  The Crumb Cake basket was embossed with the AMAZING Sale-a-Bration Basket Weave Embossing Folder.  I lightly sponged it to add dimension and topped with a Soft Suede band.    Also, adding to the whimsy is the Old Olive grass that is from the Picnic Basket Builder Framelits Set.

Oh……I almost forgot to include (it’s hard to see in the pic) that I sponged billowy clouds on the Whisper White card base first.  I purchased the Rainbow Builder Framelits sets just specifically for the many clouds shapes it has.  Two are cloud edges and two more small cloud shapes……super versatile.  Sweet!

Well……after several “that’s interesting” comments from friends and family this ditty became a sample on my display board.  Don’t get me wrong I still think it’s adorable and love it, but my class goers tend toward the more traditional.  So, my next post will be the design we made in class.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you come back and check out my next design featuring the same stamps and embossing folder to see another take on them.  Have a great day!
