Tabs for Everything Welcome Baby

Tabs for Everything Welcome Baby

Woohoo!  Today’s share is the third design using the Tabs for Everything stamp set.  This Tabs for Everything Welcome Baby card is the perfect clean and simple, gender neutral design.  So Sweet!

Do you have any stamp sets you haven’t inked up in your stash?  I have several……to be honest, quite a few.  Lol!  After perusing my stamps I felt my Tabs for Everything stamp set would be perfect to ink up.  With today’s share you’ll see it’s not just for tabs!

I love challenging myself to create outside the box so I feel like I’m getting my money’s worth when purchasing.  Hey……at least I try to do this.  Lol!

This is my third clean and simple design using Pear Pizzazz, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue.  Today’s design uses just the “Mini Elephant” this time from the Tabs for Everything stamp set.

FOCAL POINT:  The “mini elephants” were randomly stamped creating a background cut with a Laying Ovals Die.  A double layer of Velum cut 2 sizes larger (I think) backs the smaller oval.  This was popped with Dimensionals layered over three varying sized strips in Pear Pizzazz, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue.  [TIP:  When making this again I would use the Faux Suede technique on the card base bands.  It would add a nice subtle texture.]

SENTIMENT:  The “welcome, baby” is pieced together from the Baby Bear Stamp Set.  What???  Yes, I cut and pieced the “welcome” and “,baby” together.  That is another amazing thing about our Photopolymer stamps.  AND it is a lot easier to place the words within in the banner outline from the Thoughtful Banners Stamp Set.  After heat embossing it is easily punch out it with the Duet Banner punch.  Woohoo!  I popped this with Dimensionals as well.

For the final finishing sparkle touch I added several Glitter Enamel Dots.  These are cool in that they come in a variety of shades from very light to dark.  I choose the lightest ones to not overpower the Pear Pizzazz.  They add just the perfect amount of sparkle.  LOVE IT!

A thank you to Natalie Lapakko for her inspiration to create this adorable gender neutral Tabs for Everything Welcome Baby card.

I hope you enjoyed today clean & simple, gender neutral Tabs for Everything Welcome Baby design.  Let’s get out there and get inky.  Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Brush Strokes

Happy Birthday Brush Strokes

Today’s share is another of my September Card Class designs.  These bold colors were perfect for this Happy Birthday Brush Strokes design and lent themselves to a masculine theme.  But, it would be great for anyone that likes bright & bold colors.  AND I was excited to sneak in my favorite new In Color – Lemon Lime Twist.  Yay!

BASE:  The card base starts with a trio of “swooshes” in the bold colors of – Lemon Lime Twist, Tangerine Tango and Dapper Denim.  I wanted each “swoosh” to look different, so I scoured my stamp sets and found these that I felt went together well.  They are from Happy Celebrations, Work of Art and Painter’s Palette.

I was looking for a way to ground the left side and decided to trim away 3/8″ from the left side of the card and placed the Dapper Denim strip.  The Dapper Denim strip was placed onto the back inside of the card so it completes the 4-1/4″ width.  Pretty cool!

SENTIMENT:  I do love our “Happy Birthday” thinlits die, but I needed it to be less flourish-y.  [smile] So I went to trimming away the “happy” and flourishes to give a cleaner look. [Compare it to the original and you’ll see.  See……a great way to get a totally different look.]

MINI DOTS:  You know me……I needed to add a bit of shine to the design and this was my in.  I clear embossed scraps of Lemon Lime Twist, Tangerine Tango and Dapper Denim.  Then I punched one each of 3/16″, 1/4″ and 3/8″ circles in each color.  After mixing and placing “just so” like only a Type-A can.  Lol!  I glued them down with a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Adhesive.  QUICK TIP:  After applying them to the card; with your Heat Tool, quickly run it around the edges of the circles to round and smooth the edges.  Very cool!

FINISHING TOUCH:  After I had placed the “Birthday” and the shiny dots it “just felt” that something was missing.  After trying several ideas I finally thought “try a narrow strip of Tangerine Tango between the Dapper Denim and Whisper White.  OMGawd!  That was it!  Happy chair dance ensued.  Lol!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed today’s bright and bold Happy Birthday Brush Strokes design, and will stop back by soon.  Have a great day!

Lift Me Up Bundle – Perfume Bottle

Lift Me Up Bundle - Perfume Bottle

February’s card class smelled like roses after making this card in class.  This atomizer perfume bottle is a fun “outside the box” use of the Lift Me Up Bundle.  I was inspired by Viviane Tavares version and after researching perfume atomizers I created this Black & White Shiny version.  Thank you to Viviane Tavares for the inspiration!

It starts with a Vellum base layered with Basic Black and B&W Dots from the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.  I liked the subtle look the Vellum gives instead of stark white or even Smokey Slate (potentially).

BOTTLE:  I cut all the pieces for the “bottle” base then taped them together.  Then I traced around and cut out a “template” for people in class to trace and cut out.

ATOMIZER:  The “tube” is a quarter piece cut from a Layer Ovals Framelits frame.  The “bulb” is the small balloon embossed in Silver and die cut from the Up & Aways Thinlits.

BOTTLE COVER:  The silver cover is also from the Up & Away Thinlits cut from Silver Foil.  Trim away the bottom of the balloon shape following the “scallops”.  The leftover piece gives you the bottle “top” and “base”.  To create the base trim the top away, and from the opposite the straight vertical strips.  There is a die piece that fits the “base” shape that is cut in Basic Black as well.  Next this is glued to the bottom of the bottle shape creating the base.  [TIP:  only trim away what is mentioned above so there is enough to glue to bottle.]  Then die cut another small piece in Silver Foil and glue it as well as the top piece to finish the bottle.  Finally, glue the atomizer bulb to the top, making sure it fits on the card.  Then pop with Dimensionals.

I wanted the sentiment to look like is was being “spritzed” from the bottle.  There are a couple cloud shapes in the Up & Away Thinlits die set which gave me my Ah-ha moment.  Then I found the perfect sentiment from the Thoughful Banners stamp set.  Woohoo!

I hope you enjoyed today’s design featuring the Lift Me Up Bundle from the 2017 Occasions Catalog.  There are so many images and shapes, and endless possibilities.  Thank you for stopping by today.  Until next time Happy Stamping!

Paisley ~ Thoughtful Banners Hello

Good Friday morning.  Today’s post is the first of my “outside the box” use of the Paisley Framelits Die set.  I was playing with laying the pieces out and realized “ooh, these look like hearts”.  The soft color combination of Pear Pizzazz and Flirty Flamingo pair well with the punch of clear embossed Calypso Coral.  AND the embossing adds the touch shine to make this clean and simple design sing.

BASE:  The base starts with Whisper White layered with Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizzazz and more Whisper White.  [TIP:  This helps the subtle colors and shapes pop.]  I used a variety of different sized layers to accentuate specific colors.  The first is Flirty Flamingo then Pear Pizzazz.  Even with Flirty Flamingo being the dominate color the Pear Pizzazz is strong enough that they “feel” balanced.

PAISLEY HEARTS:  The three heart sizes are just a few of the many shapes in the Paisley Framelits Dies set.  When I was laying out the hearts it felt like it needed a third color as well as shine.  Lol!  So I heat embossed the Calypso Coral before cutting.  It added the perfect amount of shine.  I felt like the layout needed another element.  I tried rhinestones which totally didn’t hit the mark.  I had my a-ah moment and tried 1/4″ and 1/8″ circles instead of the rhinestones.  Woohoo……they were just right!

SENTIMENT:  This design was one of those times when a simple/minimal sentiment hit the spot.  For this bright, spring-y design I used the “hello” from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set in Pear Pizzazz ink.

Thoughtful Branches ~ Four Seasons

This limited time only bundle Thoughtful Branches was truly an inspiration all on its own.  I started with the Side-Step Apple Trees design, then having the ring of leaves left on my work table I just couldn’t bring myself to recycle it.  So, after several days I had my “A-ha” moment and saw it as a wreath.  Sweet!  After creating the “Summer” and “Christmas” design I said “well heck I might as well make something for Spring and Fall.  After several days of trial and error I rounded out this  fun Four Season set of designs.  I offered a tutorial which included all four designs to my customers when they purchased the bundle.

I enjoy having a great way to be creative and share what I love.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I had designing them.

I have a sparkly Monday!  Thank you for stopping by today.
