Pop of Pink Glimmer Flourish

14 Glimmer Flourish Hello 736pxl

Happy stampin’ Friday!  I just love today’s post.  It covers all my favorite things.  Woohoo!  First, it has pink. Second, is sparkle from the glimmer flourish.  Third, polka dots.  Well, it has one dot.  But, hey, that’s a polka dot in my book any day.  Lol!

BASE:  I decided to keep it simple and stick with a Basic Black base so nothing distracted your eye from the pink and black stripes as well as the Glimmer flower flourish.  I just love the black & white stripe design from the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.

I wanted to play with the size of the stripes and decided to make the black smaller.  I cut the black stripes in half with my Stampin’ Trimmer and then overlapped them.  BAM!  Instant softening of the boldness.  Then I got brave and sponge brayered Pink Pirouette ink onto the white stripes.  What can I say……I’m a sucker for pink and black with a bit of sparkle.  Lol!  I layered the altered SDSP onto a Basic Black layer that was an 1/8″ wider at the top and bottom, I will say for visual interest.  Yeah, that sounds good.  [grin]  Really it was because I was planning on layering it onto a different color base.

FOCAL POINT:  The glamorous glimmering flower flourish (try and say that three times fast) from the Flourish Thinlits die set perfectly finishes the pink & black stripes.  [TIP:  Place a piece of wax paper between the die and cardstock to make releasing easier.  Also I swear by the new Die Brush and Foam Pad set to quickly and easily pop cardstock from dies.]  Yes…..I popped this baby with Dimensionals.  To get small enough Dimensional pieces I cut several in half horizontally, then each half I cut into three small strips vertically.  Yeah, baby!!!

SENTIMENT:  I love this look so much, so I kept it simple and sweet.  The “hello” is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.  I just love all the words and sentiments this beautiful set has.  Love it!!!  I stamped the “hello” onto Whisper White then punched with a 1-1/4″ Circle.  Next I layered this onto 1-3/8″ Glimmer and 1-3/4″ Basic Black circles.  I felt it needed just a touch of whimsy AND I just couldn’t help myself, I added a few loops of Silver Metallic Thread.  This was popped up as well.  Hey……ya gotta have “more height”, right?  Lol!

I hope you have a great Friday and weekend.  Thank you so much for popping by today.  Until next time happy stamping!
