What a great 50th superbowl is all I can say. It was an exciting game the entire time and it just goes to show you never know what will happen. I cooked a turkey Sunday as well and it finished just before halftime. We put the TV on pause and it took a wee bit longer then I had anticipated and our 6pm shows came on a bumped the pause and changed the channel so we missed the half time festivities and a few minutes of the third quarter. If you watched it please let me know how it was. [grin]
Today I have for you the third design from January’s Card Class. It is a CAS from Janet Holmes. I did tweak it a bit by changing the orientation and had to add a rhinestone (HELLO. Lol!) We created one for a girl’s birthday and I changed it up by switching the Designer Series Paper color and sentiment to fit a boy’s birthday. Sweet!
CARD BASE: It starts with Crumb Cake for the base, layered with Soft Suede and Sale-a-Bration Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper. Wait to adhere the face layers until the Focal Point is adhered. Trust me, you’ll see what I mean in the next paragraph. I used Melon Mambo for the girl’s and Bermuda Bay for the boy’s. I really love the watercolor look this paper has, instant texture. Woohoo!
FOCAL POINT: Stamp “hello” from the Sale-a-Bration Hello Stamp Set in Soft Suede ink onto Whisper White then layer onto Soft Suede. Tape Melon Mambo ribbon to left side of rectangle, then adhere to face with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tape ribbon to right side, back of face, THEN adhere face to card base. Tie second small piece of ribbon around ribbon to create knot. [TIP: Tying a smaller piece of ribbon into a knot and adhering with a small glue dot is another way to give the look of a tied knot.] Stamp the “Party Hat”, also from the Sale-a-bration Hello Stamp Set onto Whisper White with Melon Mambo ink. Yes, you will have to fussy cut the hat and pop with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Lol! Finally, top with a small Rhinestone.
SENTIMENT: Stamp “Birthday Girl” (or “Birthday Boy”) also from the Sale-a-Bration Hello Stamp Set onto Whisper White with Soft Suede ink then punch out with Word Window punch. Adhere this to the Soft Suede strip then cut vee’s into each end of the strip. Apply the Soft Suede strip with a couple Stampin’ Dimensional halves.
I appreciate you stopping by today. I hope enjoyed to day card and that you have a great Monday! Until next time, happy stamping!
