Jar of Love Birthday Wishes

Jar of Love Birthday Wishes

Today’s share is a Jar of Love……full of Birthday Wishes.  [wink, wink]

This is the third design from my April stamp class.  I have been wanting to do a shaker card and this fit the bill perfectly.  After finding a fun CASE (copy and selectively edit) on Pinterest by MyTanglewoodCottage (sorry I couldn’t find her name) I made a several select edits to “Carol it up”.  [grin]

My first “edit”, was to silver emboss the “jar” onto a Window Sheet as well as the “jar lid” which is also silver embossed but on Silver Foil.  These are just a couple of the many shapes from the Jar of Love stamp set .  To make life easier AND way cool the jar and lid shapes have coordinating dies included in the Everyday Jars Framelits along with many other fun shapes.  Woohoo!

My second “edit” was to add the Perfect Plum layer to the Old Olive base.  I usually have narrow “framing” reveals, this time I’m thinking I should have added 1/16″ of an inch in each direction.  Yes……1/16″ makes ALL the difference.  Lol!

The adorable “Birthday Wishes” inside the jar and spilling out are from the Balloon Celebration stamp set stamped in Perfect Plum and Old Olive.  Several (okay, 6) were stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White then fussy cut, these were then placed inside the shaker jar.  [OMGosh……it really wasn’t that bad.]  Then Silver Glimmer Hearts (also included in the Everyday Jar Framelits–sweet!) were die cut and added to the jar, as well as several placed on the front.  HELLO!……what a great way to add sparkle.  Love it!  My third “edit” was to use textured Perfect Plum for the banner.  AND……now we have an embossing folder that looks just like our retired textured cardstock.  LOVE IT!!!

My fourth edit was the “birthday” from Perennial Birthday stamp set and the “wishes” is from Holly Berry Happiness stamp set.  These were stamped in Old Olive and Perfect Plum.  I scoured through my catalog to find the “perfect” birthday.  Then I had to find “wishes” which ended up being in the Christmas Themed “Holly Berry Happiness” stamp set……go figure.  Lol!  Even though Holly Berry Happiness has recently retired any stamp set with “wishes” would work.

And finally, my fifth “edit” was to decorate the inside.  Yes, I added a few “wishes” to the interior as well as layers of Perfect Plum and Whisper White for that finishing touch.  I’m thinking I need to add one silver heart here to “sparkle” it up.  [giggle]

Thank you to MyTanglewoodCottage for sharing her inspiration (you can check it out here)!  I hope you enjoyed today’s share and are inspired, as was I, to get your stamps and hands inky.  Thank you for stopping by today!
