Happy Scenes Grateful Autumn

500pxl Happy Scenes Grateful

Happy Halloween pre-Eve!  I have to give a sweet goodby to a lovely friend and amazing fighter Sandi Perry.  She lost her four year battle with breast cancer yesterday morning.  I will miss her and always love her to pieces.  She said to remember the good and let the other fade away.  She was an amazing lady, friend and stamp partner.  Love you sweetie!

Okay, let’s get on with the good.  Although I’m not much of a Halloween person, I like seeing all the fun decorations and costumes that people come up with.  I do have a couple of faux pumpkins out on my porch and a faux gourd spray hanging on my front door.  They do the trick for Halloween as well as through autumn into Thanksgiving.

I don’t know about you but I’m on Pinterest practically every day.  I have come across some wonderful designs and just have to CASE them.  I usually end up “Carol’ing Up” in some fashion, but this one is clean and simple and elegant just the way is was.  Okay, I did end up using Shimmer White paper, but hey that’s good for me.  Lol!  Cudos to Melissa Davies for this clean and simple, yet elegant design.  This is the first (of 5) designs we created in my October Class earlier this month.  I hope you enjoy it.

CARD BASE:  It starts with Shimmery White embossed with the Woodland Embossing Folder.  [TIP:  The embossing folder is large enough to emboss 6×6, also the fold is at the bottom, which means you can emboss a full card front lying it flat (horizontal or vertical).  Sweet!

FOCAL POINT:  The fall scene is from the Happy Scenes stamp set.  It is a sweet image and will work for several months.  It looks cute as is, but coloring adds nice dimension and pulls your eye to the center.  I love that it coordinates with the Hearth & Home Thinlits Die set so you can create beautiful window scenes as well.

SENTIMENT:  The sentiment is also from the Happy Scene stamp set.  It is stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto a Shimmery White oval die cut from the Ovals Collection Framelits.  Then it is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add that all important height.  Lol!

STAMPIN’ SUPPLIES:

  • STAMP:  Happy Scenes
  • PAPER:  Shimmery White
  • INK:  Momento–Tuxedo Black, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler
  • ACCESSORIES:  Framelits–Ovals Collection; Embossing Folder–Woodland

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a good Thursday and Happy Halloween weekend.

Sparkly Hugs, Carol
