Curvy Keepsake Fall Pumpkin – October Class (2 of 5)

Curvy Keepsake Autum Pumpkin

Good Monday stampin’ peeps!  I hope you had a great Halloween and weekend.  Last weekend I had been busily working on and submitting my second project design for Craft Project Central (for November).  My project will be posted on November 16th, I would love it if you would stop by and leave me a comment.  Well…….no sooner had I submitted my project for November then I received an email asking if I would like to submit a design for December.  Wow!  I was nervous with still getting settled with my new “day” job and all, but I said yes and buckled down and pulled together a super cute and fun project for December (not Christmas).  So, this weekend I got December’s project design completed and have taken pics for the instructions, now I just have to know out the instructions.  AND I finished the last design to round out the five fun designs for my November Christmas Card Classes this month on the 15th.  Okay….let’s get to today’s post.

We made this adorable fall pumpkin from the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits die.  Last month we made a fun Halloween inspired box.  It started with a Tangelo Twist base.  The edges were heavily sponged with Pumpkin Pie ink, to give more depth  (it was really bright outside so it hard to see).  We then die cut the leaf shapes from the Fun Fall Framelits set in Champagne glimmer, Mossy Meadow and Old Olive.  The “green” leaves were sponged on Mossy Meadow to give more depth.  We built the leaf “bundle” with glue dots, then rolled an 1/8″ strip of Chocolate Chip around a skewer and attached it the back of the leaf bundle.  Next, I cut the serged edge from one side the 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon and gently pulled strips, lengthwise.  I really liked the wavy textured these strips added to the bow when it was tied and added to the leaf bundle.  Finally, my TIP for placing the leaf “bundle” is to attach it to the top flap (with a slot) near the side of the handle.  This gives it the look of being tied to the handle, but lets the recipient open and see what’s inside without loosing the super cute leaf “bundle”.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you’ll give this fun and easy project a try.  I do enjoy receiving and reading all your comments.
