Autumn Vintage Leaves – Congrats

3 500pxl Vintage Leaves Congrats - Glenda Calkins

Well, today we are on the road to getting a new roof!  They are starting with tear-off today.  Our roof surface area is very large so it will take them several days to complete the task.  We are also replacing a 30 years old sky light in the kitchen and a solatube upstairs that we had installed 10+ years ago.  Yay!  Let there be more light!!!

I’d like to share the third design the ladies created in September’s Class.  The layout comes from Glenda Calkins, a big Thank You!  I went with a more fall colored look which features the Vintage Leaves Stamp Set and Into The Woods Designer Series Paper.  This is the second design that I’ve used this DSP.  The colors are not what I traditionally use, but I was drawn to them and really enjoy incorporating them into several of my designs.

BASE CARD:  The base is Pear Pizzazz (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″) layered with Soft Suede and the lighter (Soft Suede) Woodgrain Designer Series Paper.  There is a light (Soft Suede) as well as a dark (almost Early Espresso) Woodgrain design.  [HINT–I am using the darker (Early Espresso) print in one of my October Class designs.]

FOCAL POINT:  It starts with the Cajun Craze Band.  The edges were torn first then for added subtle texture I used the Faux Suede technique.  Next are the leaves, one each in Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry (yes), and Cherry Cobbler.  They are all from the Vintage Leaves stamp set stamped with Soft Suede Ink.  The center leaf was sponged along the center using a sponge dauber with Pear Pizzazz, then the edges were sponged with Tangelo Twist.  The Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizzazz leaves were adhered flat with the center Crushed Curry leaf popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

SENTIMENT:  It is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set stamped with Soft Suede ink onto a Whisper White banner.  This was popped with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well.  This stamp set has seven different sentiments to choose from.  You are sure to find something to hit the mark.  I finished the bundle of leaves with a knot of leftover Burlap Ribbon strips adhered with a couple glue dots.

I really enjoyed this card and its varied techniques used.  It is a great masculine card or just its fall feel.  I hope you enjoy it and thank you for stopping by today.  Have a terrific Tuesday!
